Hi All,
I'm trying to help a friend sort out a couple of issues they have with their recently purchased 2nd hand bike (nearly new). It's a 27 speed Shimano setup with Tiagra derailleurs and shifters.
The small issue he is having at the moment is that when on Small (front) - Large (back) grear combination it's catching the inside end of the front derailleur (2nd largest on back also slightly catches), creating noise as you'd get when cross chaining. I've tweaked my bike derailleur many times using the limit screws, and we attempted to adjust his in a similar way to give clearance but the limit screw already seemed to be at it's lowest limit - therefore no clearance could be achieved.
I'm not used to triple chainrings (have a compact myself) so don't know if the above combination is one that's prone to rubbing on a triple (it doesn't on a compact).
Any assistance, or ideas, you could give would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
